Create your own MeteorBall level

The MeteorBall Level Creator runs in your browser. Build a board, test it on the real game, and publish it to Community Levels when it's ready.

Open the Level Creator

Building a level

  1. Create a level and give it a name.
  2. Place the board's fixed contents: holes, permanent deflectors and curves, shuttles, satellites, astronauts and alien ships.
  3. Put the wormhole on the board.
  4. Choose the pieces the player gets in their toolbox (deflectors, curves, straight pieces, red switches and red pieces), and how long they have to prepare: 15 to 250 seconds.
  5. Save. Your levels are stored in this browser, so no account is needed to build, test and play them.

Verification: proving it can be beaten

A level is verified only when you beat it yourself in test mode, on the same game engine everyone plays. The Level Creator records the moves of your winning attempt, and your score becomes the level's Perfect Score. Changing anything on the board or in the toolbox clears the verification, so the level has to be beaten again.

Publishing

To publish a verified level you need a free account with a confirmed email address. When you publish, the MeteorBall server doesn't take your word for it: it replays your recorded moves on the submitted level and accepts the level only if they win with exactly the claimed score. Published levels appear in Community Levels with your display name, and get their own page, player ratings and leaderboard.

Versions

A published version never changes. To update a level, open it from My published levels, make your changes, beat it again and publish it as a new version. Earlier versions stay playable, and ratings and leaderboards belong to the version that was played.
